High Pitched Ramblings

I think its absolutely hysterical hom many ill informed people there are in the world and how much energy is expended because of it. I'm perplexed by how seriously people digest info fed to them by their high definition tubes. People no longer believe they should have their own opinions and instead choose to believe the political ramblings that come through their new 50" Plasma screen speakers. While schooling abroad @ Tel Aviv University I took an international terrorism class taught by some commando counter terrorism dude. One day we learned about what comprises a cult and how cult leaders are born..The most obvious step I recall as being feeding your followers news and information through a single source and medium. For example, a loud speaker on top of a pole in some village somewhere operated by some born again ex bush bashing poser. Even the most liberal of democrats will believe anything that comes out of that loud speaker after a given amount of time. But all political jargon aside, This phenomenon is taking place in your very living room with your CNN or BBC right now as you waste ur time reading my blog! To see some examples of misplaced hate visit the Politics section of Craigslist.com http://newyork.craigslist.org/pol/

Max Brenner

I have been itching to go for a while but I thought Brenner was only in Israel. While waiting to meet someone by Union Square I noticed there was one across the street on Broadway. What great smells in that place. Try to picture the dishes; Chocolate pizza, chocolate soup and chocolate salad I had the chocolate fondu and some hot chocolate to drink. This place is very chocolaty. I think I might have found a place to get fat at. chocolatechocolatechocolatechocolatechocolatechocolatechocolatechocolate

Oh Sure Yeah....

More often than i should I find myself listening uninterested to what people are saying to me. I try not to be rude but I think I should start to be.

All the Lonely People Where Do They All Come From

So its been a while since I went to a club. Kinda grew out of it. But it was a friends b-day and he decided to do it at Duvet. Reluctantly I went with a few other friends. When we got there we saw a mass of people as usual waiting on line outside. Picture a space that fits around 600 with 2000 people waiting like alcoholic sheep trying to get their fix inside. Big headed ego driven bouncers and promoters playing god telling people who can and cant get in. Ever since i was 15 sporting a fake i.d. I hated the scene. Its a drug infested freak show in most NYC clubs. Once we got there it was obvious we wont have the patience to wait and just left. Its just not fun waiting to get into a place that has a $35 cover charge and where your probably going to get stepped on and have overpriced drinks spilled all over you.

Ahh Cancun

A long strip of hotels makes up cancun. Used to be absolutely nothing there until they realized they can scam their northern neighbors outta their hard earned cash with a made up paradise. I get back at them by arrogantly calling everyone Chico and spitefully with an american accent saying to anyone and everyone MUCHO GRACIAS SENIORRR!!!!

Psychology

Its always been a subject of interest to me. Its absolutely amazing how things we do everyday are influenced by our childhood experiences good or bad. Its wild how our unconscious mind actually determines for us what type of life we will live, happy or miserable. Everything from "The Oedipus Complex" which according to Freud means we are trying to eliminate our parent of the same sex in-order to have our moms or dads all to ourselves or "Transference" where we might seek gratification or acceptance from someone authoritative because we acted the same way with our fathers. One way or another the study of psychology definitely has a long way to go but what is already learned and understood is enough to make you say Damnnnnn!

The Beatles

One noteworthy thing that the UK gave us. What is it with music these days? They just dont get it. Why is it, not one album track or artist can give me the same feeling in my belly? The immediate rush of euphoric motivation and optimism that comes from listening to the beatles or other 60s bands and singers. I used to Dj in clubs here in New York and i love to make people dance. Sometimes i wish I was a dj in the 60s because the music was much more appreciated then.

Basic Freud (Current read)

"He that has eyes to see and ears to hear may convince himself that no mortal can keep a secret. If his lips are silent, he chatters with his fingertips; betrayal oozes out of him at every pore". Sigmund Freud

The G-d Damned Holocaust

Every year I make sure to spend a couple of weeks depressed over the holocaust. I put myself through this at least annually in memory of my would be aunts uncles and cousins that persished. When you consider what great personalities and characters could have decended from 6,000,000 jewish people it kind of makes you think (would there still be any money left for me?).
My late grandfather Felix from my fathers side lost all 11 of his siblings. I make sure to read at least one book every year written by a survivor. Its a harsh reminder that although times have changed, they have not changed much. It really was not all that long ago. Many people are still driven by hate and are easily led and influenced e.g. Palestinians democratic election of a terrrorist organization.

Trouble On The UES

Its ok Cory the Red Sox got lucky it wont happen again!! Sooo, another plane crashes into a NY building. In the UES. I cant help but picture some cut throat wall street broker sipping brandy and gloating to a pier about how he recently scammed some rich Australian of his lifes savings while looking out of his window only to see gods wrath coming down unto him. But on a serious note; Isn't the world starting to look like a sick game of sim city where a turban wearing hacker is on a jihad mission corrupting everything like a cancer from the inside out!?!? From our twisted, two faced politicians to our arrogant but "free" way of life. Hmmm bordeaux produces a pleasant head.

Fork in the road

Its said that the average person changes career's or occupations 7 or 8 times in a lifetime. There's nothing I fear more than being 50 and starting over.I don't want to do just anything. I always thought I just wanted to be wealthy and didn't care what crap I would have to eat to get there. If that was the case I would stay in the business I'm in. I would continue selling TV's online and would continue explaining to cheap Midwesterners that shipping is not free. Who cares if I look like I'm 60 when I'm 30. The sad truth is that most people in NY are here because they are only interested in accumulating wealth. That's why sooo many people flock here. "The city of opportunity". Some of us inherit this greed from our semi immigrant financially struggling parents. Sadly and Inevitably a wave of immobilising resin drowns us in the grind and stops us from thinking out of the box. A true waste of talent. These people forget that happiness exists. They think they will attain it when they become millionaires (I know many people that actually believe that). It was always my opinion that grad school was for people who didn't want to work. My attitue towards that is changing. But what now? Med school? Law school? Every lawyer I ever knew (besides my current lawyer) left the business because they were miserable. Every doctor I know complains that they have no time for anything and are always around sick or dying people. I envy people that truly love what they do. I think its sooo rare. Before I fall on my face from this bottle of cabernet I am about finished with, let me say: This is a true fork in the road before me. I hope I don't merge onto highway 666.---Blog update: Selling tvs is what the near future apparantly holds for me. What the hay. 10/12/06

The Met

In my opinion nothing there compares to the incredible drama caught in the paintings of the 19th century. But, the arms and armory exhibit is my 2nd favorite. All those movies of british royalty always seemed so fictitous until you actually see up-close the armor and armaments they used. Unbelievable precision and detail 600-3500 years ago no less.

The Medicated U.S.

I recall strolling down a street in amsterdam when two european thugs tried to sell me cocaine. Vile, Filthy and scarred. I just wanted to distance myself from them. I now would trust those fuckers sooner than i would my own family physician with his reassuring looking bifocals, broad smile and many many pounds of prescription pads.

Day Of Atonement
