The Catskill Mountains
Up until now I thought living in the great outdoors was just for redneck hicks. I always thought these people were strange and had no grip on reality. The sad truth is that because of this misconception I have missed out on GRRRREAT times that could have been had.....Anyone that would put up with this city and its smog and ugly inhabitants is plain and simply a shmuck. Of-coarse the money and job issue always comes up when considering moving elsewhere but that is not an issue for me. I am moving to the Catskills Mountains. A recent ski trip has transformed me from a cut-throat city business man to a melancholy country boy. The views the air the lakes and the skiing is just too much for me to resist. Anyway a strange feeling of belonging envelopes me when I am out in the country. The only reason I am currently in NY is because my parenst decided to raise me here. Well im out.

Bigger Gunz
How comical it is, Damn nazis were so typical thinking "we will build the biggest gun and show them all". Taking history up to that point into account might suggest building such a large gun was strategic but how i would have looooooved to see their faces when they heard what came out of the Enola Gay and nearly obliterated an ENTIRE COUNTRY. Bigger bang for your buck.

Phone Rage
Being in the mail order business can be very frustrating but also just as amusing. Its amazing how quickly a flamingly hotheaded, cursing customer can turn into Mary Poppins when offered a free Surge protector. Sometimes customers think they can get away with speaking in any manner they please since they beleive they have the upper hand and can cancel their orders at anytime. Our profit margin is not enough to take this crap from them and so they act funny when it actually registers and they comprehend we DONT CARE if they cancel their orders. This time of year it gets so hectic we are often in the office until 10:00 P.M. I recall once speaking to a customer that purchased an item we were then editing on the site. It was a thirty five hundred dollar plasma. During the editing process certain fields are sometimes left blank for an hour or so and it was the price field on this one. The guy was not willing to absorb this fact and demanded he get his plasma for free. After apologizing for the confusion and offering to read aloud our agreement page (which states that we are not responsible for typographical errors) he began to raise his voice and get nasty. "I WILL REPORT YOU TO THE BBB" "I WILL CALL THE DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE"... This guy was intent on his getting his free plasma. He seemed to be one of those people that are good at squeezing out a few free months of cellular service after getting a dropped call and ripping up the customer service rep. He was obviously not expecting it when I interupted his rant by saying: Call Me Back After You Pull Your Head Out Of Your Ass!!! He eventually became a good customer.

Jim Webb Is Kewlll
“How’s your boy?” Bush asked, referring to Webb’s son, a Marine serving in Iraq.
“I’d like to get them out of Iraq, Mr. President,” Webb responded, echoing a campaign theme.
“That’s not what I asked you,” Bush said. “How’s your boy?”
“That’s between me and my boy, Mr. President,” Webb said coldly, ending the conversation on the State Floor of the East Wing of the White House.

The Big Green Apple
Being that I am a native, NY isnt as exciting for me as it should be or at least how it seems to be in the eyes of migrants and tourists. I sometimes really wish it was and wonder why I am so often bored living in "the greatest city on earth". I do appreciate many things about NY that i know arent common place in other cities states and countries. For example being able to go buy your groceries at 4:30 in the morning. I love nothing more than when someone comes to visit from abroad. Especially when they have never been here. Only than do i get to appreciate NY as anyone should. Seeing the city lights, the big buildings, three beautiful bridges lined right next to one another through the eyes of a simpleton that never left the village they were born in and one day upped and said "To New York Cityyy"!! Is for me the only way to fully absorb the greatness NYC has to offer.

A Chemical Imbalance
I try to convince myself to stay single these days saying any relationship i get into now would just be a mutual waste of time.
But i have to admit its fun to connect with someone on such a level where your every thought revolves around that one person and where making another person happy is your actual goal for the day.

Were All Born Unique But We All Die The Same
Sometimes I wonder about how the effects of sociality and the world in general change us individually. When we are born we are fresh minded and the sky is the limit. After living a little while and having the world rub off on us and our minds molded by people around us we become the same uniform thinking soldiers. Same wants same needs. This has become incredibly boring since everyone wants the same things. No one is unique. The world and everyone in it is in a never ending race that has no winners but many losers. Am I an anarchist? Hardly, but I hate being predictable and doing whats expected of me. Id love to do the complete opposite of what the world thinks a 25 year old Jewish New Yorker would do. Just in spite.

Democracy At Gunpoint Is Tyranny
Normally i dont rant about politics but while driving i noticed a neighbors house with a sign in the window reading "Democracy At Gunpoint Is Tyranny" Its amazing how blind most Americans are to this. An imperialist administration now governs our country. You get a clearer picture when abroad. Bush loves the fact that everyone thinks hes a moron. In hindsight he is enriching all the people that he calls friends and those who have fueled his failed business ventures prior to becoming president. He is actually a sharp, cut throat, int'l business minded financier who manipulated the political system in-order to improve his bottom line. He knows its easy to accept that someone stupid did something wrong. True, in some countries I would get castrated for speaking so freely, but the public mindset (because of their emotions toward terrorism) has become to accept that we are pushing our ways on people that want nothing to do with it. Their set in their ways. If a clear voice was to penetrate the terror alert level conscious, propaganda filled minds of the American public they would easily understand there is no way to westernize the middle east. Thousands of years of Muslim tradition isn't going to be swiped away by any 1 or 2 term governance. Bush's ultimate slap in the face was how he used our help to essentially steal a country and didn't even share the booty. Where the hell is all that oil that was spewing out of the ground burning on our CNN. The war was/is simply a way to enrich the American business elite. Yeah Saddam was an ass and all but there are much bigger fish to fry. Isn't it funny? A country we thought had weapons of mass destruction was obliterated while countries we know have them are left alone. I once thought bush was a bold war time president but he turned out to be a yellow belly pussy. If terrorism is what your 2 term presidency is all about than go it all the way. Put guns in your daughters hands as Saddam has with his sons. Bomb Iran. Bomb N Korea. Bomb SAUDI ARABIA since thats where the 9/11 jackers came from. And while your at it, Bomb all other countries that are trying to protect themselves as we have been doing for the past 230 years.

Funny Money
So the other day when my friend came to my office to gloat about how he made 350k in some deal he closed, I couldnt help but notice being told that is intimidating. Normally I would'nt be but we've known eachother since second grade and him making more cash than i do is not cool. He sometimes asks me why i dont get involved. The real estate business is great and all but you close deals only a few times a year and that wouldnt give me the proactiveness im into. Yagshemash!

Death of a grocery man
Tonight i went to see the Borat movie. I waited months for it to come out and yes it was quite funny but didnt meet my expectations.. Im very confident i would have found it much funnier had i not been informed while on the way to the movies that my corner store grocery man was shot in the head and killed. Religously before starting my day he would make me coffee and i would wonder how he was able to work such long hours (I often see him before going to sleep and then again in the mng for coffee) He was a good guy who worked hard. As a child i grew up playing ball in Marine Park. All too often my brother and i would get chased all the way home by the older black guys that wanted to steal our basketballs and/or bikes. Even after growing up with these "adventures" I can truly say I am not a racist although I am a realist. It was'nt an irish guy that pulled a gold chain my grandma gave me off of my neck while playing a video game at 12 years old. The sad truth is that it was 3 black guys that decided it would be easier to empty the register in my corner grocery store if my coffee man was lying on the floor with a hole in his head. Its a mad world. http://www.nypost.com/seven/11062006/news/regionalnews/brooklyn_deli_worker_shot_dead_regionalnews_tom_liddy_and_larry_celona.htm

"Mad World" by Gary Jules (Damn Good Song)
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places Worn out faces
Bright and early for the daily races
Going no where Going no where
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression No expression
Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow
No tomorrow No tomorrow

Hello, Friend?
I sometimes think about how strange and complex relationships are. What i find is that absolutely everyone changes inevitably. Sometimes the changes are minute and nonapparant. Sometimes they change a persons character or personality. We all have our own self-adapted images of what/how we think others are and sometimes its surprising and unappealing when they turn out diferent. This is the cause of most divorces I think. I've met someone that lost part of their family in a fire and left a very lucrative career on Wall St to become a motivational speaker. He could no longer stand his wife since she was "spiritually beneath him". Another friend married his ex after dating for a solid 4 years and said they both no longer enjoyed eachothers company. So many horror stories keep me resilient after ending a long relationship. Realizing that there probably isnt one person in this world just for me gives me the same feeling an 8 yr old must have when they learn that Santa Claus doesnt exist.

I Wish I Was Easily Amused (Halloween)
Its been a while since I can really say I have been surprised or shocked... Things are beginning to get boring.. Its as if we were given an empty mold on the day we were born and since then we are all trying to fill every corner of it appropriately. Doing what's expected of us and just surfing our generations wave. While at the village parade I noticed nothing shocked me which is scary in itself. There was a blind referee which was cool but things are becoming all to uniform. 4th of July Halloween, I remember egging cars, buses and peoples houses. As illegal as it was, it was actually tolerated and it was damn good fun. Together with the crime and the filth Giuliani took away the True celebratory essence of the 4th of July and Halloween in NY.

High Pitched Ramblings
I think its absolutely hysterical hom many ill informed people there are in the world and how much energy is expended because of it. I'm perplexed by how seriously people digest info fed to them by their high definition tubes. People no longer believe they should have their own opinions and instead choose to believe the political ramblings that come through their new 50" Plasma screen speakers. While schooling abroad @ Tel Aviv University I took an international terrorism class taught by some commando counter terrorism dude. One day we learned about what comprises a cult and how cult leaders are born..The most obvious step I recall as being feeding your followers news and information through a single source and medium. For example, a loud speaker on top of a pole in some village somewhere operated by some born again ex bush bashing poser. Even the most liberal of democrats will believe anything that comes out of that loud speaker after a given amount of time. But all political jargon aside, This phenomenon is taking place in your very living room with your CNN or BBC right now as you waste ur time reading my blog! To see some examples of misplaced hate visit the Politics section of Craigslist.com http://newyork.craigslist.org/pol/
Click below to see a stupid video about what nonsense all this noise about terrorism really is. "Terrorrist that lost his identity".http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AVfpzC74lQ

Max Brenner
I have been itching to go for a while but I thought Brenner was only in Israel. While waiting to meet someone by Union Square I noticed there was one across the street on Broadway. What great smells in that place. Try to picture the dishes; Chocolate pizza, chocolate soup and chocolate salad I had the chocolate fondu and some hot chocolate to drink. This place is very chocolaty. I think I might have found a place to get fat at. chocolatechocolatechocolatechocolatechocolatechocolatechocolatechocolate
Oh Sure Yeah....
More often than i should I find myself listening uninterested to what people are saying to me. I try not to be rude but I think I should start to be.

All the Lonely People Where Do They All Come From
So its been a while since I went to a club. Kinda grew out of it. But it was a friends b-day and he decided to do it at Duvet. Reluctantly I went with a few other friends. When we got there we saw a mass of people as usual waiting on line outside. Picture a space that fits around 600 with 2000 people waiting like alcoholic sheep trying to get their fix inside. Big headed ego driven bouncers and promoters playing god telling people who can and cant get in. Ever since i was 15 sporting a fake i.d. I hated the scene. Its a drug infested freak show in most NYC clubs. Once we got there it was obvious we wont have the patience to wait and just left. Its just not fun waiting to get into a place that has a $35 cover charge and where your probably going to get stepped on and have overpriced drinks spilled all over you.

Ahh Cancun
A long strip of hotels makes up cancun. Used to be absolutely nothing there until they realized they can scam their northern neighbors outta their hard earned cash with a made up paradise. I get back at them by arrogantly calling everyone Chico and spitefully with an american accent saying to anyone and everyone MUCHO GRACIAS SENIORRR!!!!

Psychology
Its always been a subject of interest to me. Its absolutely amazing how things we do everyday are influenced by our childhood experiences good or bad. Its wild how our unconscious mind actually determines for us what type of life we will live, happy or miserable. Everything from "The Oedipus Complex" which according to Freud means we are trying to eliminate our parent of the same sex in-order to have our moms or dads all to ourselves or "Transference" where we might seek gratification or acceptance from someone authoritative because we acted the same way with our fathers. One way or another the study of psychology definitely has a long way to go but what is already learned and understood is enough to make you say Damnnnnn!

The Beatles
One noteworthy thing that the UK gave us. What is it with music these days? They just dont get it. Why is it, not one album track or artist can give me the same feeling in my belly? The immediate rush of euphoric motivation and optimism that comes from listening to the beatles or other 60s bands and singers. I used to Dj in clubs here in New York and i love to make people dance. Sometimes i wish I was a dj in the 60s because the music was much more appreciated then.

The G-d Damned Holocaust
Every year I make sure to spend a couple of weeks depressed over the holocaust. I put myself through this at least annually in memory of my would be aunts uncles and cousins that persished. When you consider what great personalities and characters could have decended from 6,000,000 jewish people it kind of makes you think (would there still be any money left for me?).
My late grandfather Felix from my fathers side lost all 11 of his siblings. I make sure to read at least one book every year written by a survivor. Its a harsh reminder that although times have changed, they have not changed much. It really was not all that long ago. Many people are still driven by hate and are easily led and influenced e.g. Palestinians democratic election of a terrrorist organization.

Trouble On The UES
Its ok Cory the Red Sox got lucky it wont happen again!! Sooo, another plane crashes into a NY building. In the UES. I cant help but picture some cut throat wall street broker sipping brandy and gloating to a pier about how he recently scammed some rich Australian of his lifes savings while looking out of his window only to see gods wrath coming down unto him. But on a serious note; Isn't the world starting to look like a sick game of sim city where a turban wearing hacker is on a jihad mission corrupting everything like a cancer from the inside out!?!? From our twisted, two faced politicians to our arrogant but "free" way of life. Hmmm bordeaux produces a pleasant head.

Fork in the road
Its said that the average person changes career's or occupations 7 or 8 times in a lifetime. There's nothing I fear more than being 50 and starting over.I don't want to do just anything. I always thought I just wanted to be wealthy and didn't care what crap I would have to eat to get there. If that was the case I would stay in the business I'm in. I would continue selling TV's online and would continue explaining to cheap Midwesterners that shipping is not free. Who cares if I look like I'm 60 when I'm 30. The sad truth is that most people in NY are here because they are only interested in accumulating wealth. That's why sooo many people flock here. "The city of opportunity". Some of us inherit this greed from our semi immigrant financially struggling parents. Sadly and Inevitably a wave of immobilising resin drowns us in the grind and stops us from thinking out of the box. A true waste of talent. These people forget that happiness exists. They think they will attain it when they become millionaires (I know many people that actually believe that). It was always my opinion that grad school was for people who didn't want to work. My attitue towards that is changing. But what now? Med school? Law school? Every lawyer I ever knew (besides my current lawyer) left the business because they were miserable. Every doctor I know complains that they have no time for anything and are always around sick or dying people. I envy people that truly love what they do. I think its sooo rare. Before I fall on my face from this bottle of cabernet I am about finished with, let me say: This is a true fork in the road before me. I hope I don't merge onto highway 666.---Blog update: Selling tvs is what the near future apparantly holds for me. What the hay. 10/12/06

The Met
In my opinion nothing there compares to the incredible drama caught in the paintings of the 19th century. But, the arms and armory exhibit is my 2nd favorite. All those movies of british royalty always seemed so fictitous until you actually see up-close the armor and armaments they used. Unbelievable precision and detail 600-3500 years ago no less.

The Medicated U.S.
I recall strolling down a street in amsterdam when two european thugs tried to sell me cocaine. Vile, Filthy and scarred. I just wanted to distance myself from them. I now would trust those fuckers sooner than i would my own family physician with his reassuring looking bifocals, broad smile and many many pounds of prescription pads.

Netherlands
So you sit on a train or bus and immediately notice 80% with their faces buried in books. I, like most americans was pumping my ipod. What a strange sense of inferiority in terms of open mindedness and intellectualism. The dutch make us look like dumb uniformed brutes.
