These caves were used to "quarantine" the ill. Then they'd burn any bacteria or disease still there. Lots of these in this are. They'd often roll a big stone in front of the entrance and imprisson the ill. Done lots in englad during the plague.

This is a biblical era chill area. A large bench etched outta mount few thousand yrs ago or so
The reason the stones are shaped this way is because they used to "etch" stone off the side of the mountain to use for building. Like they did for the palace of King David.
