I'm Convinced We're Confused

Now we have dumbshits who have been holding their racism, hate and idiocy a secret, until Trump gave them a voice. This is pleasing as it makes it clear who is who and what is what. Trump has marketing companies, with manipulative tactics put to use for him. Slogans promoted and swallowed whole by those who agree with what is said, perceptions drawn. It's scary, the use of this never before seen balloon which is bursting with "information" nowadays. Not only to market crap to us but also as a weapon of mass control, what with the governments scientific use of it all.  There is good reason why when a country is invaded and overtaken they immediately start spewing their respective crap through all the media channels.

Coercive rhetoric has always been around as slogans, deceptive and false displays of charity, big toothy smiles, and of-course the promise of some benefit for their backers. So you have people who exert all these ramblings through the hole in their faces all gassed up, because they think "change" is a comin. Shuure, all our Mexican waiters, dishwashers, field workers, laborers or builders are going to be chucked back into Mexico and we'll build a great wall of America at the border... "I'll Build A Great Wall" says Donald Trump.

Bernays, with his calculating use of mass psychology, removed the taboo from women smoking, on behalf of the tabacco companies sometime in the 20s or 30s. He affected generations since then and it will continue perpetually. It was his campaigns that convinced everyone that its ok to put flouride in the water

So many misconceptions, all sorts of things are really not what they were made to seem. Even Abraham Lincoln is known for freeing the slaves while really only slaves in the south were freed, as a final, strategic military blow to them.

Fortunately, fads and trends are great when studying mass psychology as it allows for you to blend with the crowd and keep inconspicuous. So with my brim down low, I make my observations.

It's important to know, like Mark Twain points out, all the drama seen with the rallies, people showing their true faces, thinking that being racist and unwelcoming is the way to be patriotic, all this effort, all these high pitched ramblings are all for nothing. Nothing will change. The two parties made available to us are really just one. Somewhere along the way, perhaps even before George Washington, our country has been sold.

So these days I can be seen bumpin my head to the music I share here while on the B going to Rockefeller center. I bump until I reach this Photography studio where I work. Hustle I do and Brussels are sprouting.

Misplaced Respect

One of the saddest things I think happens too often and causes a ton of angst among intelligent youths or even adults is their stupifying by others with significantly lower IQs, shortsightedness, demeaning behavior and such because apparently thats the next best thing other than establishing an intelligent, thought provoking conversation, when they simply cannot.

I can only imagine how many others this scenario has affected. Problem here is when you believe these people deserve your respect, naturally, since it may be your own father whom we're talking about here.

I'm glad I realized this a while ago because it truly is liberating to be free from this most often unintended obstruction on proper intellectual growth. I always knew respect should be earned before given but confusion led me to think that within my closest circle, where I always thought respect should be applied intrinsically, even there, I've come to find, it should be earned as well. After realizing, through various means, that many are dumbed down by things like smog in the air, convinced of stupid shit they might have heard, the commercial ads, poison in the drink or food we eat, its been observed here that taking in anything, no matter if it's from your cousin or your mother, should be done with calculating caution, as they have power to influence even those who are sharpest, who possess the potential to do great things into someone who will have no self confidence and will go through life confused, falsely thinking he has nothing to contribute. All because those closest to them, who simply cant hang intellectually, and they simply cant find an alternative to using their influence to hit you in the head with potential stealing bewilderment, with confusion and then steal from great people their chance of making something of themselves. Im sure we would know the names of a lot more great people, with tons to give this world and we might have advanced plenty more if it wasn't for dumbshits who put people down because they seem to be unaware when someone worthy of respect is in their presence.

My dog is curled up more than his hair is at this very moment, laxing on his bed. The rain and gray weather dropped the temperature and he's getting old. He's 11 1/2 and I'll never forget the tuesday, Dec 30 2008 when I got him. Since I love animals more than I do people, it'll be difficult to handle if he passes soon. It is wild, and much like the behavior of black slaves back during that time, the way dogs sense their masters every emotion and respond to it accordingly. People were so mean back then they'd use this against them, with their slaves being loyal as a Jack Russel yet they'd still kick them around like cattle, torment them and then this slave would blame himself for  his masters nasty mood, much like a child would do. The treatment of the slaves was probably one of the most vile examples of American history. There are many a book describing this but none better than The Confessions Of Nat Turner.

It's thought we're not slaves today. It seems the current world order is great, right? If you follow everyone's footsteps, conform to the soap opera which has been made to seem an unpliable reality, all will be good..You must find a profession (matters not if you like it or not), study hard and you'll meet with success. This is all a lie. A new world order is needed because people are left to starve in this one. I think this is because the rich, insatiably, want more. Their appetites, together with their survival of the fittest mentality, their resources, their egos, have long ago affected this "order" but disturbingly so and similar to an aggressive cancer. I wont try and push on you my beliefs or even tell you to "open your eyes" but at least while your're dreaming try and imagine a world that actually applies it's most advanced and current technology on what's needed. Things like defense seems to be the major expenditure nowadays but any competent person would say "where is the 30 billion needed to feed the worlds starving?" I think even a war strategist would tell you a budget of 350 billion, can be cut to 320 billion, or it can be found quickly relative to other frivolous, even ridiculous, expenditures. It'll go to do what, in this world order, doesn't seem to be relevant to it's interests or priorities, feed the worlds starving and stop the clock that kills 500 kids an hour.

The Swaying Buoy

I'm truly grateful Google provides this here space to share my thoughts and what is, at any given time, going through my mind.

Most go about their lives with revelations and crossroads that require strategic and critical thinking, but do we? Being able to transfer this from my mind to text, these proceedings that go on, if you will, I can then study what I'm going through in my life, coming back and checking myself every step of the way, like from a text book.

It's nice to say that for the past ten years, recorded right here, there have been different priorities formed and molded, not by outside influences, but by observations of what I found is going on outside. What I thought and think is right or wrong, my perception of the world, of some of it's beautiful characters or ugly ones, of it's painfully obvious flaws, it's delights, it's dangers and different corners.

It's a lovely place, if looked at from the right angle and it's certainly not when out of focus. But it's not the only place where we live. Probably at around 10 years old or so your innocence, uniqueness, is captured. Like with a dog catchers net thrown over your head, you're caught by what is made to seem important, by your parents, your friends and even the cartoons on your TV. Really, what you are captured by is the externally influenced and artificial mold that your mind has become, and by the perceptions that have been placed in there about whats important by people and things that are many to name.

Most people are prisoners in their heads. Lions caged, controlled, molded, subjugated and indoctrinated by it. As with most things, there is a spectrum. Some are in maximum security lockdown, moving with inertia in their bubble of too many worries and thoughts, never in the actual moment. Others less so. I would imagine most only really live when they know* they have a short time left, and many dont at all.

This topic, as you can read in the archives of this page, is important to me. To break out from the shackles of the mind. To live in the moment, with the true and literal understanding that tomorrow, really, is not promised. What I've found is this:

It's rare to escape this net in youth, we flow with it in order to fulfill our natural pack mentality. I remember when I was young, meeting people in my teens who really only cared to go someplace with a lot of friends because they would feel "safer" with numbers. Then, as we grow older, our perception of what is important changes. Now it's time to follow suit and go to medical school like your dad. You can be seen with your headphones blaring, confusion and frustration introduces itself right then because you love photography, all the while studying stuff you hate. Of course taking pictures wouldn't fit right with whats expected of you anyway, right?

These are different trials at random crossroads in our lives that need proper external analysis and examination, this fact I hope I established here. And so something I noticed, and a good practice, is to pretend that you have 1 or 2 more days alive. One by one, things will automatically prioritize properly. Whether you're in the Gulags, Alcatraz, a cubicle, or a fancy office suite, you will sum up life like it was a flip thru. I need not mention those who describe moments right before they almost passed, seeing images of family and such in their heads. It's like you are being allowed to really live for a quick moment before leaving. Like glancing through a closing door. Priority, in such a case, is not gently learned, but like a really angry teacher shoving a textbook about it in the face of a student, violently so.

Like an enormous, loud and colorful circus, such is our world. No mask is the same here. Faces are painted by experience or sometimes with crayola crayons. Some are colorful, some gray and gloomy. My conclusion, however is that our attitude towards any stimuli in life constitutes 90% of how it will affect us. This echoes life advice given to me from a second cousin who lost both of his parents to suicide and so I'll share it here:

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our Attitudes."
