Excerpt from s/thing I'm writing elsewhere

One clear example of how blatantly and obviously backwards the American justice system is this: One has to put his hand on a christian bible "and swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth" (had to do this once myself). What? How stupid do you think we are? At the end of the day, it is your lawyer (if you or someone in your family can afford one) your genes (how u look), your background (your class) and obviously your crime that is used to determine how long you'll spend in the American justice system of oppressing, opposite of rehabilitating, hell.  There're those who simply flow with the waves (the majority), those that swim against it (minority) and those that question why the fuck there are waves...
